I visited this local market near the outskirts of Chengdu, Sichuan, China, and found Chinese street food and the atmosphere to be mind blowing and exciting! It was truly an experience visiting this Chinese street market! So much food and Sichuan ingredients, so many flavours to try!

I visited this morning market on a Sunday morning in Chengdu at 8am with an empty stomach and money to blow with the goal of tasting foods and chatting with as many locals as possible. This is a true China experience. It was so busy, with so many people, so many things to buy and look at, tons of vegetables, meat, live chickens, live hens, live roosters, everything you could want really. Fresh handmade noodles, fresh Sichuan cold “liangbancai”, and a huge meat market deli area with hanging pork and beef to choose from. All of the locals were friendly and talkative, although a bit surprised to see a foreigner walking through the area!

If you’re visiting China as a tourist, you’ll definitely want to take a walk through a busy morning market like this. There are countless street foods to try and people to chat to (If you speak a little mandarin). This market was mind blowing!

Rather than trying hot pot in Chengdu or hot pot in Chongqing, you could try some way cooler food in Chengdu at local market like this. This should be a top priority in my opinion!

Chinese cuisine is so diverse, and I consider myself lucky to be able to live in Sichuan, eating Sichuan food everyday, tasting all the top Chinese foods to try whenever I want. I’ve decided to stay living in China for at least another 2 or 3 years to get the feel of it and eat as much as I can!

The address of this market was:

农贸市场
青羊区苏坡中路5-10号

Chinese noodles are reported to be the ideal in the north of China, but I have observed some astounding noodles listed here in Sichuan, in Southern China. In Sichuan province, there is a huge wide variety of diverse noodles to attempt. A single of my favorite, even extra so than the internationally well-known Dan Dan noodles (dan dan mian 担担面) is the blended sauce noodles with cowpeas, the jiangdoumian 豇豆面, they are top rated notch. Some of them are like Chinese road food items, although other folks are in dining establishments. Most of them are good.

I observed this area in Chengdu following biking all over 1 evening in research of the ideal noodles with a hungry stomach. I enjoy watching the local Chinese cooking and obtaining to taste the noodles later on delivers so substantially pleasure. Chinese delicacies is so various, and noodles are 1 of the staples. Just about every recipe is diverse, and in Chengdu, Sichuan, I have appear to enjoy noodles extra than rice or even lots of of the stir fried dishes. There is beef noodle soup, dan dan noodles, dry chili paste blended sauce noodles, spare rib noodles, sweet potato noodles with intestine, and a great deal of them are definitely spicy. There are also lots of hand pulled noodle joints and blade-sheared noodles as very well.

The name and deal with for this local noodle joint is:

Identify: 廖老幺杂酱面(Liào lǎo yāo zá jiàng miàn)
Handle: 金鹏街12号 (Jīnpéng jiē 12 hào)
