  1. Hey, not to be a bitch or anything…have you ever tried to cook real thai or cambodian food from scratch? I made some Tom Yum that my boyfriend's family loved. You know they love it when they are silent and eating.

  2. I go looking for large packs of nori sheets on sale. Our local shop always has a large assortment, and a couple of brands are usuallly on sale. True, sometimes it's brownish Chinese nori, but often good nori sheets can be had pretty cheaply.
Also good quality wasabi paste is important, and that's the 2nd thing I go to Asian shops for. In combination with the nori, this means I eat sushi 2-3 times a week, and very cheaply.

  3. chinese sausage.. My mom used to take them you cut them up and put them in your rice cooker with the uncooked rice. At the end just put some bokchoy on the top of the rice to steam. Very simple and tasty. Love the video, thanks!!

  4. Yeah, you pretty much get some of the most exotic fruits and veggies in the Asian market than your typical grocery stores. Kids don't eat apples, oranges, grapes, pears, or bananas I have to shop out of the beaten path to get some interest fruits that they don't carry in typical grocers. If you're a vegetarian or vegan the Asian market has some of the best pick for your meals. Just be open minded and adventurous to try new thing. My kids like dragon fruits, star fruits, jackfruit, etc.

  5. Shout-out to the Gochujang suggestion, the bibimbap recipe is great but it also works amazingly for chicken, veggies, you name it. I think it's pronounced go-chu-jahng rather than go-chu-zang though.
